W E A V I N G  T A S T E R  D A Y

The out come from this 5 hour day is to leave with a basic understanding of 

weaving. 

 

The looms will already be threaded with a plain warp ready for you to 

weave on. The processes of loom preparation will be briefly explained.

 

You will be taught basic weave structures that you can explore, whilst 

weaving with a variety of different weft yarns. *If you wish to weave with 

your own yarn, please bring it along with you* 

 

Your technical woven samples, created throughout day will cut off the 

looms for you to take home. You can keep these as momentos, depending

 on how fast you pick weaving you be able to use these samples as wall 

hangings, a table runner or turn them in to a small pencil case or purse if 

you are a keen sewer. 

 

You will weave the majority of your samples on a 4 shaft table loom. 

There may be the option to weave on a 4 shaft floor loom and, depending 

on the stage of my manufacturing, experience weaving on my main Dobby 

loom. *Please note that the woven piece from the table loom will be yours 

to take home*

 

Most importantly the day will be relaxed, working at your pace developing 

your creativity through weaving. 

 

Please bring a notebook & pen and a pack lunch with you, a kettle will be 

available.
